“Angry Tears”

Breathe.
In.
Out.

Unclench.
Untwist.
Untighten.

Breathe.
Swallow.    
Gulp.
Hiccup.

Breathe.
Not that it’s working anyway.
The lump in the throat stays,
And the tears threaten to overflow.

Thoughts run around in angry little circles,
Without finding any relief,
Making it so much worse than it could be.

Angry thoughts,
Angry emotions,
Angry expressions,
Angry tears.

Shallow breaths,
Hot face,
Aching head.
Angry tears.

Breathe.
Not that it helps.
Swallow.

A splash of cold water.
Breathe.
